Comic Book Camp Brand & Cinematic Video Digital Ad Campaign
I worked with the Saskatchewan Co-operative Association on launching and promoting a new Saskatoon-based youth initiative: The Comic Book & Graphic Novel Co-operative Day Camp. The campaign included a new brand, webpage, posters, and Meta digital ad campaign utilizing both images and video.
Over the course of a week, camp attendees will learn about the power of co-operatives through the art of creating comics and graphic novels. Led by local artists, illustrators, and writers, comic book campers will attend workshops that will teach them about story structure, page composition, pacing, materials, and creative techniques. At the end of the camp, campers will work together to create and publish a comics anthology.
The Brand
The camp brand was designed as something that would reflect both a traditional camp as well as a creative workshop. The association envisioned it as a comic book publishing label and wanted the logo to be easily printed onto pins, stickers, and other merch.
Vintage Alternate Brand
The association also asked for a vintage alternate of the brand inspired by 1950s comic publishers like EC Comics.
Poster
I designed a poster that was placed around Saskatoon to promote the camp. The mission was to draw the eye away from surrounding posters and get the attention of passersby.
Cinematic Video Ads
I captured video at a few of the initial comic book camps and turned them into video ads for Meta as well as a video header for the camp’s registration webpage. By utilizing the power of video ads, I was able to help the association fill each of the camps for both the 2024 and 2025 summers.
Digital Image Ads
As part of the digital Meta ad campaign, I created a series of image ads to help keep the campaign fresh and appeal to different demographics.
